Perfectly opaque with no rim variation. Intense nose of black jammy fruit with violet, vanilla and dark chocolate. Big, rich yet elegant with loads of juicy fruit, grippy tannins, refreshing acidity and perfectly integrated alcohol. This wine was only bottled last month but it already gives you a lot of pleasure from drinking it. Meao 2013 shows a huge potential for ageing so give it few years to get comfortable in the bottle. If you like it fruit-driven drink within the next 5-7 years, for more complex aromas wait another 5-10 years. Delicious with loin of venison served with red wine reduction, macerated cherries and celeriac puree.
